OPPORTUNITY NetTranscripts is looking to work with individuals who have experience relevant to proofreading and correcting draft versions of audio transcriptions. Our Vendors / independent contractors will be editing transcripts created by Speech Recognition software to match the audio content of criminal investigations, internal affairs, and various other legal and law enforcement audios. Contractors must have prior verbatim, multi-speaker audio transcription or editing experience. Whether you want to transcribe full-time or part-time, we have more than enough work to go around. Prior verbatim transcription or editing experience is required, as well as having done interview transcriptions. We love working with typists that have had experience transcribing or editing for a law enforcement agency, courts, or a law office. You must be computer savvy and able to learn new programs quickly. All work is completed within our all-in-one transcription platform. Editors will receive a draft of a transcript that has been created by speech-to-text technology, then listen to the corresponding audio while proofreading and correcting the document to ensure it meets accuracy requirements. Typical corrections include correcting speakers who were misidentified, correcting the accuracy of words spoken, adding words spoken that were not picked up by AI, fixing punctuation, and correcting formatting. New orders are available Monday through Friday with turnarounds that vary from same day to 5 business days. The majority of our orders are 3 business days. Our order pool allows you to choose orders that fit into your schedule - displaying length of audio and turnaround for each order. You may claim anywhere from a couple orders a week up to fully booking yourself a "full-time" amount of orders. A full criminal background check is required for individuals completing this work. There is an initial assessment period before any vendor is able to complete client work. Therefore, it is essential that you have prior Law Enforcement transcription or court reporting experience and are able to proof your work to be at least 98% accurate. Pay is per audio minute and dependent on the turnaround time. Detailed information regarding pay rates will be sent to all qualified applicants after the application is reviewed. You must be an American citizen residing in the USA Note: Due to legislative restrictions, residents of California and Massachusetts are not eligible for this opportunity 2. You must be able to pass a full criminal background 3. You must have prior verbatim multi-speaker transcription experience that is similar to the types of audios we transcribe. 4. You must be able to type 80 WPM 5. You must have stellar grammar and proofreading skills 6. Be able to produce a transcript that is at least 98% accurate 7. Work on a PC with Microsoft Windows 10, a minimum 8 GB of RAM and a version of Microsoft Office that has Word (you should be very proficient) and Excel (open & view only) 8. Be an effective communicator through email 9. Have or be willing to purchase noise-canceling headphones and an Infinity USB-2 foot pedal 10. Have a high-speed Internet connection (minimum 15Mbps and can effectively stream a YouTube video). You must use Chrome v70+ as your web browser. 11. Be proficient at research on the Internet 12.
