Native American, Asian, and other students of color. BSU's
institutional values, the work of the Presidents Special task Force
on Racial justice, and leadership of the Leading for Change Higher
Education Diversity Consortium underscore the campus commitment to
racial equity and other forms of social justice. Bridgewater State
University is an educational community in the Southeast region of
MA, close to Cape Cod and Rhode Island. The University and the
School of Social Work are actively engaged in racial justice work
and organizational reflection to advance a culture and environment
that is inclusive of the broadly diverse members of the BSU
community and committed to student success. The School of Social
Work offers BSW and MSW degree programs. Our student body numbers
about 550 students in both programs. The School has 18 full time
faculty, 3 field education staff and two administrative assistants.
We serve the Southeast region of MA and beyond with over 280
internship opportunities for our students. POSITION SUMMARY: This
is an opportunity to be a member of a collegial field education
team within a social work community, committed to equity-minded
practice and our justice-informed identity. The associate
administrator will report to the Director of Field Education and
support them in administrative functions and student serving roles.
Position responsibilities include assisting the Director of Field
Education in overseeing field education for approximately 300
undergraduate and graduate social work students annually.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: The Staff Associate, Associate administrator
of Field Education shall work under the direct supervision of the
Director of Field Education. This is an APA position and is subject
to the terms of that union agreement. Tour of Duty: Monday -
Friday, 8:30 - 5:00 (Evening and weekend hours may be required)
(Saturday and Sundays as days off, ability to work some Saturdays
as needed) ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The associate administrator will work
to support the Director of Field Education and serve a diverse
group of students in their MSW and BSW degree programs. 1) Work
closely with BSW and/or MSW social work students, as assigned by
the Director of Field Education, interviewing students and placing
them in internships, providing support to agencies,
problem-solving, and assisting in expanding placements
opportunities. 2) Collaborate and consult with the School of Social
Work Chair, the MSW & BSW Program Coordinators, and social work
faculty, and staff. Assume duties as assigned, including evening
and weekend responsibilities. 3) Collaborate with field supervisors
and field faculty to ensure quality experiences in Field Education.
4) Consult with faculty and students regarding field placement
concerns and ensure appropriate resolution. Serve on Academic
Review Committees as assigned by the Chair, MSW or BSW Coordinator
or the Director of Field Education. 5) Promote and maintain strong
working relationships with social work field supervisors and the
professional social work community. 6) Assist students in meeting
their goals and objectives, achieving academic success. 7) Provide
independent management of the recruitment, development, and
approval of field practicum sites at all levels as assigned by the
Director of Social Work Field Education. 8) Oversight for the field
component of grants and new academic pathways at the School of
Social Work, as directed by the Director of Field Education. 9)
Develop and implement student orientations and training for field
instructors and supervisors to enhance the quality of student
supervision and learning experiences. 10) Support and develop
strategies to facilitate the integration of field work and
classroom content. 11) Monitor utilization and maintenance of the
field education program's data management system. 12) Represent the
SSW's field education program to professional and partner
organizations and community 13) Contributions to the social work
knowledge base via the seminar in field instruction and external
presentations. 14) Assist in the recruitment and orientation of MSW
students via in person and virtual information sessions. 15)
Develop and recruit new field placements. 16) Maintain familiarity
with best practices in field education to assist with department
continuous improvement and greater efficiencies. 17) Provide staff

QUALIFICATIONS:* 1. Three years MSW practice experience 2. Ability
to supervise or manage a team 3. Familiarity with database
software, technology, and the use of social media 4. Practice
experience in diverse settings 5. Demonstrated ability to work
effectively with diverse students, colleagues and community
professionals 6. Strong oral and written communication skills 7.
Driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to
travel in MA and RI PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Experience as a
field staff member or field supervisor for social work students 2.
Licensed in MA as an LCSW or LICSW or equivalent in another state
3. Knowledge of the social service delivery system in Massachusetts
and Rhode Island 4. Bilingual in Portuguese, Spanish, Haitian
Creole 5. Experience with virtual technology and online 6.
