Job Description:
The Production Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing
all aspects of the production process with goals to ensure the
efficient production of products that adhere to company, customer
and government specifications. The manager is also responsible for
production planning, staffing, and maintaining high standards of
operations while implementing efficient production processes that
focus on reducing costs, maximizing output, and eliminating
waste.Your Responsibilities:
- Set production objectives and implement action plans for
achieving set targets.
- Designs and evaluates production standards, layout of
processes, and personnel requirements to ensure optimal utilization
of resources to maximize efficiency, yield, and reduce waste.
- Oversee the hiring, training, daily work of production
personnel.
- Conduct forecast to identify potential risks and contingencies
to ensure business continuity.
- Ensure production operation adheres to regulatory, third party,
customer, and company policies, programs, and requirements.
- Leads and supports quality improvement efforts through improved
raw material performance, new process technology or improved
operational practices.
- Applies statistical methods and performs mathematical
calculations to determine best manufacturing processes, staff
requirements and production standards.
- Prepares periodic reports on KPI's and others as needed.
- Coordinates quality control objectives and activities to
resolve production problems, maximize product reliability and
minimize cost.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications,
orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of
manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
- Leads and is the champion for the Process Control platform (MES
and ERP) by supporting and delivering training of plant management
on standard processing philosophies and techniques.
- Leads on the integration of new products and its processes into
production by collaborating with R&D, Quality, and
Production.
- Partner with maintenance and plant engineering to maximize
production uptime of production lines.
- Collaborate with EHS to design ergonomic and safe work
conditions.Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in process engineering, industrial
engineering, mechanical engineering, food science, food technology,
or manufacturing engineering, or in a similar discipline with prior
experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- 10+ years in a management and leadership role in a
manufacturing environment.
- Management of 50+ employees, including permanent and temporary
workforce.
- Experience and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets,
inventory & manufacturing software and systems (ERP - SAP,
Infor/M3; MES - Cat2).
- Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred. Additional Skills &
Abilities:
- Experience and success supervising others in a team
environment.
- Knowledge of various food safety audit schemes, including FDA
and GFSI (BRC and SQF).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with developing and implementing successful
solutions for complex manufacturing processes.
- Project and process management.
- Process design and development.
- Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCad.Benefits:Eligibility for
