Job Description:

BASIC PURPOSE : The Area Director of Revenue Management (Marriott hotels) role is to identify and maximize all potential revenue opportunities for 3-5 assigned Marriott focus service hotels. This role will provide direction and support to property teams in the maximization of revenue (RevPAR and RevPAR Index), profit and market share through leadership in the revenue strategy processes associated with inventory management, pricing, demand projections and revenue forecasting. The position is responsible for data analysis and the development of revenue strategies to achieve the annual operating plan for the hotel. Must have previous Marriott Revenue Management experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :


-Maximize total revenues and market share index through developing pricing, restrictions, mix of sales and channel visibility
-Test and measure all rate strategies to drive RPI growth weekly, monthly and yearly
-Analyze data to interpret market trends, market dynamics, strategy changes, optimum mix of sales, etc.
-Prepare weekly strategy meeting agenda and lead weekly strategy meetings with hotel teams; reviewing prior week's results to evaluate effectiveness
-Communicate proactively with properties regarding rate restrictions and strategy
-Review STR Reports, D360, A360, and other business intelligence tools that may apply
-Monitor competitive pricing across all channels and products
-Develop relationships with OTA's. Oversee OTA promotions
-Ensure distribution channels have accurate content and pricing
-Oversee the accuracy of the RMS system
-Recommend pricing and positioning of assigned hotels and maintain inventory and RMS systems
-Oversee Group Rate Pricing Strategy for the hotel 24 months into the future. Work closely with sales to ensure group cut off dates are monitored
-Complete displacement analysis as needed
-Understand and apply the dynamics of local markets and demand generators
-Communicate brand initiatives
-Explore opportunities that drive profit, create value for clients, and encourage innovation.
-Assist in completing monthly/annual revenue forecasts

--- Maximizing brand relationships by working with their various staffing personnel (including but not limited to Digital Marketing team, Social Media team, HWS, etc.) that can help the hotel gain market share, build customer relations and gain exposure in various market places. Must become astute in the consistent use/updating of all the brand tools inclusive of RFP tools, web tools, packaging, reports, etc.. In addition, must complete all required brand training.

-Demonstrate leadership skills by consistently growing responsibilities, strengthening skill set, knowledge base and engagement with the staff by using tools /resources provided.
