OverviewFull Time: Mon-Fri - flexible scheduleThe Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team where responsibilities will include implementing IFSP's for infants and young children. A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will provide training and support to families in center and home base services as well as in group and individual treatment. The BAMSI EI is a public health program that provides therapeutic support to infants and toddlers who have developmental delays or are at risk for such delays. The goal of the program is to help children as soon as possible so they can reach their full potential. Services include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and skill development. Must be a licensed COTA in the state of MA, pediatric experience or Early Intervention Certification desired. Implement IFSP's for infants and young children.2. Participate in multi-disciplinary team.3. Provide center and home base services, group and individual treatment.4. Provide training and support to families.5. Complete reports,record progress and interpret reports to families and other staff members.6. Serve as an advocate for parents and child's frist 766 evaluations when leaving the Early Childhood Intervention program.7. Actively participate in case conferences and in-service education trainings as required.8. Choose appropriate training materials.9. Perform duties consistent with agency/program policies and procedures.10. Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Standard precautions must be utilized and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.11. Perform other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor or designee.Qualifications Licensed COTA required Pediatric experience and/or Early Intervention Certification desired. Must possess a valid drivers license in state of residence. Must have accurate or correctable auditory and visual abilities to observe children and maintain safety. On an infrequent basis, must be able to respond rapidly to safeguard children during an emergency including thereat of fire, disaster or imminent danger. Emergency response may require running, carrying or lifting children. Must be able to react quickly to prevent injury or harm to a child. On a moderate to frequent basis, must have the agility to move quickly to reach a child who may need assistance. Must be able to stoop, squat, sit or otherwise position self to closely interact with children.
