Job Description:
Unit Description: Under the direction of the Director of Patient
Safety, the Patient Safety Program Manager-RN assists in the
functions of and furthers the mission of the department. The focus
of the Patient Safety Program Manager-RN's role is direct
involvement in improving the quality and safety of care through
education, risk assessment and performance improvement activities.
Experience: - Current RN licensure required. BSN required. -
Master's degree in a nursing related field required. Certification
in Nurse. Leadership (CNL) is preferred. - Must have 5-10 years of
clinical experience in a hospital setting, and 3-5 years experience
in patient safety improvement in a complex healthcare environment.
Must have significant experience with data review, manipulation and
analysis. Must be a skilled facilitator using quality improvement
methodologies to improve patient safety. - Must have 2 years of
experience as a clinical educator/clinical preceptor. On Call: None
Requirements: - Current RN licensure or compact licensure
recognized by the State of Vermont required. - The University of
Vermont Health Network is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science
in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or
current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to
obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter. -
Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.
