Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a
fast-paced adult Med/Surg trauma unit, requiring a NH or compact
state nursing license and recent Level I or II Trauma center
experience. Details - Work in a 36-bed adult surgical unit within a
hospital setting - Primary patient population includes trauma and
acute surgical cases, such as spinal cord and traumatic brain
injuries, orthopedic trauma, and surgeries like hernia repair and
appendectomy - Includes care for patients with COVID-19 in negative
pressure rooms - Day shift RN-to-patient ratio is 1:4, and night
shift ratio is 1:5 - LNA patient ratio is 1:12 - Common procedures
involve chest tubes, complex wounds, trachs/laryngectomies, drips
(Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone), central lines,
and telemetry Requirements - Active NH or compact RN license with
proof of state residency - Current BLS certification - Minimum 1.5
years of recent equivalent Med/Surg experience - Recent Level I
Trauma or comparable Level II Trauma center experience within the
last 2 years - Demonstrated experience with chest tubes, tubes and
drains, telemetry, care of trachs/laryngectomies, central lines,
and administration of common drips Additional Information - No
local candidates will be considered; must live at least 75 miles
from the facility - Duties include comprehensive care of trauma and
post-surgical patients - Work in a busy, high-acuity, team-oriented
environment focused on rehabilitation and complex surgical care
