Job Description:
Newport, Rhode Island: We seek an experienced PHYSIATRIST to
join a prominent Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation team as
MEDICAL DIRECTOR of a 28-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility in a
progressive 120-bed community hospital. This growing, academically
oriented PM&R department is a 4-time winner of the Guardian of
Excellence Award.Come to this beautiful seaside community and enjoy
a role that is about 40% administrative and 60% clinical. Enjoy a
convenient weekday schedule as medical supervisor of inpatient
rehabilitation services, and provide direct patient care yourself,
working primarily with stroke, amputee, TBI, spinal cord, multiple
trauma and orthopedic patients. Your friendly team consists of 9
enthusiastic, caring specialists including MDs plus physical,
occupational and speech & language therapists working every day to
improve the quality of life of their patients. The average length
of stay in the unit is 14 days.This is an extraordinary opportunity
to make a difference for your patients. PM&R here includes
multiple outpatient clinics focusing on Concussion, Spasticity,
Prosthetics and Orthotics, Wheelchair Management, Oncology, Wound
Care, Comprehensive Spine and Interventional Pain Management. You
will receive a teaching appointment with an Ivy League medical
school and have tremendous opportunities to conduct research and
teach residents (Neurosurgery, Neurology and Orthopedics) and
