Sr. Process Technician Job Title: Senior Process Technician Job SummaryThe Senior Process Equipment Technician is responsible for the support of GMP operations at the Alnylam Manufacturing Facility. This encompasses the following areas of Facilities and Engineering maintenance; GMP in-suite, & utilities. Responsibilities include execution of corrective and preventive maintenance, and operation/monitoring programs in a manner that ensures the facility is in continual cGMP compliance, and sustained operations of the production and utility systems with minimal interruptions. The Senior Process Equipment Technician supports the facilities team to ensure timely on-schedule completion of corrective / preventive maintenance and quality systems. All duties are performed with the intent to ensure production capabilities are sustained with emphasis on cGMP compliance and customer service.Accountabilities Will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the process equipment and support the clean CUP utilities. This will include the development of maintenance procedures, documentation and materials required to support these systems Capable of working with minimal supervision Guide and ensure a safe work environment is maintained through adherence to environmental and health safety guidelines and policies Support installation, repair, and troubleshooting for a wide range of Facilities and Production equipment used for all functions in a cGMP facility Support all maintenance and repair activities within the Manufacturing Facility Work with the building management system to monitor process utilities and alarm notifications Support continuous improvement and development activities of maintenance practices and procedures. Supervision of contractors and vendors for the performance of preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems and lab equipment as well as GMP cleaning operations Support 24/7 operations of the plant which may include shift coverage support as required Identifying and maintaining equipment spare parts inventory and replenishing spare parts as necessary to prevent equipment down time. Assist in the support of calibration activities within the environment and facility. Provide excellent customer service and create strong partnerships with internal and external partners including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Process Sciences, Engineering, EH, Security, Finance, and Information Technology Other duties as assigned ReportingReports to: Joe Kubiak Direct Reports: None Indirect Reports: NoneHiring RequirementsKnowledge/Experience/Skill: 5 years' experience or AS Degree and / or relevant experience within a GMP facilities organization in biotech or pharmaceutical industries Direct experience with performing and overseeing maintenance activities within a cGMP environment. Ability to develop procedures and SOPs. Must be able to support coverage of a 12-hour rotating shift as required Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Scope To support all Facilities related activities at Alnylam's Alewife and Norton manufacturing sites. Perform scheduled, demand, new and emergency maintenance on support equipment. Maintain equipment records, instrument tagging, Identify and assist with implementing opportunities for continuous improvement around the plant systems and operations Assist Engineering staff in troubleshooting and testing of equipment and systems. Assist the maintenance team in shift coverage for the 24/7 coverage of the Norton Facility Competencies Knowledge and experience in maintenance activities supporting cGMP production Knowledge and experience with clean utilities systems and processing equipment. Knowledge and experience in GDP requirements and experience documenting work within a CMMS system. Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgement and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Strong understanding of clean utilities within a GMP facility. Proven ability to manage simultaneous tasks, work under pressure, track and monitor progress of multiple projects and follow through to ensure goal achievement. Physical/Environmental Factors(Complete if appropriate for role) The ability to work at all Alnylam site locations. Incumbent will be required to carry a phone and be on call as required to support operations. Capable of lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling, and carrying equipment of different dimensions and weights and utilizing equipment to assist in material handling activities. Capable of working in environments requiring use of increased personal protective equipment including chemical containment suits and respiratory protection.
