organization (IDHF) is seeking a multi-faceted, exceptionally
talented, user-centered UX Researcher who is passionate about

Our IDHF team has been an embedded partner of J&J Medical

Our global design team leverages HCD philosophies to advance the
needs of the MedTech Industry by placing our users at the center of
our design process. We design solutions that span the full episode
of care and balance the needs of various users; surgeons, hospital
staff, patients and caregivers across all experiences and designs
(physical and digital) within our portfolio.
Our organization is a multinational team comprised of Industrial
Designers, Human Factors Engineers, UX/Interaction Designers,
Information Designers and Design Strategists in more than nine
locations around the world, all operating under the same mission to
improve the quality of care.
Job Summary and Responsibilities:
Support primary and secondary research to identify user needs,
motivations, and value drivers. Develop protocols and discussion
guides to facilitate user research. Synthesize results into
actionable design recommendations for key customer and product
translate research results into opportunities and requirements to
prioritize product design features and capabilities.
Participate in company-wide initiatives to develop and evangelize
Utilize design tools and creative storytelling techniques to
strategically frame data, insights, and recommendations for project
Development of user personas, customer journey maps, service
models, and storyboarding user experiences (UX) in the care
continuum, and identify appropriate UX metrics.
Support competitive portfolio analyses to define unique
differentiators and emerging behavior or interaction patterns.
Conduct trend analysis (e.g. experiences, demographic, consumer,
technology, healthcare, economics, etc.) to shape internal
Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User
Experience, Human Factors, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, or
other equivalent design related degree. Master's in business or
strategy a plus.
4 years or more of relevant work experience within Human centered
design/ User Experience and research, and/or product research and
Experience leveraging qualitative and quantitative UX research
methods and an ability to select the most suitable method for a
given situation and triangulate when needed; including but not
limited to usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, field
visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, A/B testing
Experience planning, organizing, and conducting in person and
virtual user research.
Proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross
functional partners to drive impact.
Knowledge of user interface and user experience principles for
hardware and software; such as workload, human perception,
cognition, behavioral science.
Experience synthesizing user feedback into concise, meaningful
design insights and actionable recommendations.
Experience with identifying, defining, and using methodologies to
measure user experience metrics.
Experience with research in a regulated industry (e.g. HCC, HIPPA,
etc.) a plus.
Ability to travel up to 20%, domestic and international is
