Job Description:
Waters Corporation is currently seeking an Technician 4 to join
our Global Machining Operations. - In this role, the individual
will join our Model Shop Section which is a fast paced -work
environment -that utilizes -rapid prototype machining -techniques.
-In this section, our team produces complex machined components -in
support of -Research and -Development of new products as well as
difficult to procure materials for instrument requirements. - In
addition to machining, the candidate will be required to be
creative in -developing manufacturing techniques in order to modify
and redesigned features into existing product. This position
requires great attention to detail and -solid inspection habits to
ensure -that quality is met per the design requirement.This opening
is an Night position forMonday thru Thursday 2:30 pm to 12:30
am.
- Under limited supervision, Setup, operate and program a variety
of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and surface
grinders. - The main focus would be on CNC equipment.
- Must have an intimate working knowledge and be able to set up
and operate conventional machine tools without prescribed
procedures. This includes machine tools with conversational
programmable CNC controls such as the Prototrac control
- Must have a wide intimate working knowledge of machining
processes and techniques.
- Inspect completed material utilizing hand inspection equipment,
ie. vernier calipers, micrometer and drop dial indicators as well
as Profilometer and CMM machines
- Interact in a Manufacturing environment with a variety of
personnel and Design Engineers as well as shift change over on a
daily basis
- Set-up and operate secondary equipment and perform any other
functions within the department that may be necessary
- High School or Trade School graduate with specialized education
in Machining Technologies required
- Minimum of seven years experience required as a Production
Machinist
- Must have sufficient education to read engineering drawings,
perform shop math, and keep accurate records
- Personal computer knowledge required
- Must be able to develop machining processes for the fabrication
of production, prototype, and tooling components to meet the
customer specifications
- Must be able to give feedback and recommendations to the
customer on design cost and manufacturabilityWaters Corporation
