Overview
Our Neuropsychologist completes cognitive screening,
neuropsychological assessments and psychological assessments.
He/she also provides individual and group psychotherapy to
individuals with cognitive impairment. This position may also be
assigned responsibilities for developing, monitoring and
implementing behavioral management plans. He/she provides
supervision to psychology interns. Our Neuropsychologist may
complete forensic evaluation and reports, if he/she is a Designated
Forensic Psychologist.
Qualifications
Education:
Doctorate in psychology from an accredited university.
Experience:
Training and experience in neuropsychological assessment.
Licenses/Certification:
Licensed in state of practice as a Psychologist.
Responsibilities
Administers, scores, and interprets tests for cognitive screening,
neuropsychological assessment, and psychological assessment tor
referred patients.
Writes psychological assessment reports.
Provides individual and group psychotherapy to individuals with
cognitive impairment.
Develops, monitors and implements behavioral management plans.
Complete forensic evaluation and reports, if he/she is a Designated
Forensic Psychologist
Serves as a consultant to the multidisciplinary teams.
Assists in guidance, supervision and training of students. Provides
training and education to the rest of the clinical team as
needed.
Serves on committees as assigned.
Completes thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of
assessment and treatment provided that is consistent with
professional standards and facility procedures.
Is sensitive to cultural diversity issues, treats residents as
individuals and considers the culture of the residents when
providing care and treatment. Demonstrates cultural competency in
all aspects of duties performed. Attends and successfully completes
competency training.
Is honest, consistent, fair, positive, and nurturing in daily
interactions.
Is knowledgeable about care and treatment needs of residents of
different ages. Provides individualized care and treatment that is
consistent with/sensitive to the age and life span development
needs of each resident. Demonstrates age specific competency in all
aspects of duties performed.
Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety
of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow
standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of
instructions and apply knowledge to different factual
situations.
Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous
basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
