Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Senior Business Analyst of
the Star Program, the Business Analyst is primarily responsible for
producing insightful and actionable reports, performance
dashboards, and actionable member-level spreadsheets for all MA-PD
contracts across multiple states. The Business Analyst will also be
responsible for conducting root-cause analysis for measures where
performance is trending low, analyses across geographies/markets,
and at provider-group level. This position offers exposure to
various stakeholders and leaders within the Senior Products
Division. The candidate who will be successful in this role is
someone with strong analytical mind-set, critical and organized
thinking, and with a collaborative attitude.Job Description
- Execute timely and accurate data sourcing, validation,
analytics, and reporting as directed including but not limited to
the monthly Star performance and member-level data, annual survey
data, and CMS data
- Monitor and evaluate performance trends by analyzing monthly
metric tracking dashboard. This includes current Part C and Part D
measures. It also includes any measures that are anticipated to be
included in the future based on industry or internal analyses.
- Assist with the interpretation of raw data, statistical
results, or otherwise compiled information, and prepare or assist
in the preparation of written reports and/or oral presentations of
findings to internal and external stakeholders
- Provide analytical and consultative support to a broad spectrum
of internal business areas / measure owner(s)
- Identify and analyze the correlation between different sets of
data to enable comprehensive business decisions (e.g. including but
not limited to: Member Satisfaction Data, Provider Satisfaction
Data, HEDIS, CAHPS, HOS, operational metrics, and other sources)
- Develop policy and procedures documenting all data analysis,
query/report building, and presentation of Star-related data
- Participate in teams, meetings, workgroups, etc. that require
Star expertise
- Ongoing maintenance of Star related documentation and folder
management
- Other responsibilities as needed RequirementsEDUCATION:
- B.A./B.S. required. Masters preferred.EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a managed care
environment preferably with Medicare Advantage products
- Strong analytical background with the ability to summarize
high-level findings for various audiences
- Required: Expertise in using MS Excel (writing formulas,
performing vlookups, pivot tables, etc.), PowerPoint, and Word
- Preferred: Expertise in data management through SAS, MS Access,
or other SQL-based software
- Other helpful experience: Tableau, Cognos 10 or 11, Visio, VBA,
etc.SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess strong public speaking and presentation skills in
order to report analytical findings
- Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be
able to work cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and with attention to changing
priorities.WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Fast paced office environment handling multiple demands. Must
be able to exercise appropriate judgment as necessary. Requires a
high-level of initiative and independence.
