Description:Position Summary:In this field-based position, the
Lift Station Repair Technician is responsible for performing
service and repair to sewage pump stations. This position involves
electrical and plumbing tasks as well as confined space entry.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Performs maintenance,
replacement, and repair of lift station equipmentTroubleshooting
equipment malfunctions and performing repairsAssist in the
installation, cleaning, maintenance, repair, and or rebuild of the
mechanical equipment found in sewerage pump stationsPerforms
diagnostic test to determine operating efficiency of equipment,
permit and other document readings, and prepares reportsMaintenance
and repair of electrical control panelsResponds to trouble alarms
during normal working hours and after hoursWork within confined
spaces such as manholes, or wet wellsWork may be performed in
Confined SpacesKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to enter and
work in confined spaces as defined by OSHA regulations up to 40
feet below groundClimb ladders; work at heights up to 20'Lift and
move up to 65 pounds.Ability to work in adverse weather
conditions.Ability to understand instructions furnished in written,
oral or diagram form. Demonstrated working knowledge and experience
using tools and testing equipment applicable to pump station
maintenance, including basic knowledge of electrical
controls.Ability to read and interpret documents including Company
policies and procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, maps and road signs.Ability to speak, cooperate and
communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and
management.Ability to work independently and manage pressure to
meet deadlines.Basic computer literacy including email and internet
skills.Ability to perform basic math functions.Two or more years of
experience performing lift station maintenance and repairs
preferred.Driver's license required, in good standingPrevious
experience working with electrical components (pumps, alarms,
control panels)Requirements: Minimum
Education/Experience/Qualifications: Must be 21 years of
ageDriver's license required, in good standingTwo or more years of
experience performing lift station maintenance and repairs
(preferred, but not required)Acceptable driving record Ability to
successfully pass DOT drug screen, medical certification, physical
exam and road examsMust be able to operate in a drug-free
workplaceMust be able to meet physical demands evaluationMust be
able to lift over 65 lbs regularlyWind River Environmental services
and maintains a broad array of non-hazardous liquid waste systems,
including grease traps, septic tanks and related waste systems.
